Applications for Public Call 2201 – AI in Science Fellowship Programme – Imperial College London are open until March 2. The initiative will award up to three fellowships to professors conducting research in basic sciences and engineering using artificial intelligence. This call stems from a strategic cooperation agreement signed in 2024 between USP and Imperial College (IC). At USP, it is coordinated by the Provost’s Office for Research and Innovation (PRPI) in partnership with the USP International Office (Aucani). The call is available at this link.
The program targets early-to-mid-career professors (typically those who completed their PhDs no more than 10 years ago). Each fellowship lasts two years: the first year is spent entirely at Imperial College, either independently or under a supervisor’s mentorship, while the second is dedicated to research at the fellow’s home department at USP.
Candidates must submit a research project identifying artificial intelligence as an effective tool to transform their field. Selection will be conducted by committees from both USP and IC, with the latter making the final decision. Selected proposals will begin activities in September 2026.
Applications must be submitted exclusively online via USP’s Mundus System, and specific access instructions are detailed in the call. A document prepared by Imperial College containing program details, eligibility requirements, necessary documentation, the schedule, and selection criteria is available here.
For more information, use the Fale Conosco (Contact Us) channel on the Mundus System, selecting the subject: Intercâmbio – Docentes (Exchange – Faculty).
